INFRARED THERMOGRAPHY

The infrared thermography is a technique that displays thermal field of the tested object using the energy and density of photons emitted from the surface. Infrared thermography equipment works as a transformation device that can display infrared (IR) beams, otherwise invisible to human eye, depending on the thermal properties. Thermography display devices capable of such transformation are called infra or thermo cameras. The result of thermo camera examination is a thermogram, i.e. image of thermal field on the surface of the tested object.

Thermography is the means of identification of problems during manufacture, transfer and distribution of electric power, helping to discover all the critical spots where the equipment overheats due to incorrect or faulty operation; in the construction industry it helps to discover heat leakage etc.

Apart from the above mentioned we use this method to check for tiny cracks in operated ovens. Special camera with filters is used for the purpose. Ordinary cameras do not allow that.
