HARDNESS MEASURING

Hardness is an important parameter that describes the material and its finish. Steel hardness measuring is completed for the purpose of establishing quality of heat processing, effects on material properties when identifying causes of defects, assessment of degradation of mechanical properties for the materials operated under high temperatures in the long run, and evaluation of welded joints.

The mechanical test room is equipped with both stable and mobile hardness testers. Hardness can be measured in Brinell, Rockwell or Vickers units.

It can be measured for relatively soft materials (such as aluminium and its alloys, brass, plastics, plexiglass etc.
