UT – MANIPULATOR TESTING

The reliability and accuracy of ultrasonic measurement can be significantly increased by the use of mechanization, various manipulators and some other aids. Some measurements cannot be even performed any other way.

Adoption of manipulators makes it possible to accurately determine the position of the measurement ultrasonic probe in relation to the tested geometry. The position data, together with the measured data, are transmitted and saved into the memory of the acquisition unit. Subsequently, the saved data can be evaluated either directly on the acquisition unit or on an external computer. Using this kind of measurement/evaluation, makes it possible to take full advantage of a comprehensive perspective on the tested area, when it is possible to clearly observe and measure position of individual defects with respect to each other or in relation to the reference points of the tested object. For the purpose of reading the actual position the encoders are used, firmly connected to a manipulators.

TEDIKO company, s.r.o. has a comprehensive range of manipulators for testing welded joints on flat parts just as on pipes with outer diameter from 21 mm. Our manipulators enable testing by all the state-of-the-art ultrasonic methods (TOFD, Phased Array and TFM/FMC).

We can provide also a full range of manipulators for corrosion mapping, using either the common contact method, various wedges or utilizing specialized hydroform wedges working with immersion technique. We are able to carry out the corrosion mapping on flat parts as on curved parts (tubes), including bends.

Thanks to our experience with 3D modeling and 3D printing we are also able to respond flexibly to current needs and realize measurements using our own manipulators.
